ACCOMMODATIONS – ALL HAVE ELECTRICITY & HEATING
The Sheebeen
This 6-person accommodation has three bunk beds, the top bunk being single bed sized and the bottom bunk being double bed sized. This used to be where the pigs were fed with potatoes decades ago, but it has been renovated as a warm, quirky pink space for all the princesses out there!
The Lodge
This wild west looking accommodation space can sleep up to six people in six single beds. It has a mini fridge & a couch for extra comfort. The covered deck has ample seating and is a good place to chill out and enjoy the sounds of nature.
The Barn
This 18th century structure was once the shelter for many a farm animal, but now catered for guests with more human needs now! Downstairs, there is a room with one double bed & two singles, as well as a shower & toilet facility off the corridor. Upstairs, you will find a comfortable sitting area/kitchenette and the original beams of the barn are exposed that add character to this space.
The Tower
The Tower accommodation is accessed on the ground floor, and takes you into the recently refurbished rooms that still have original 18th woodwork. The main room has one double bed and three singles with adjacent toilet/shower facilities.
The Cabins
There are two 2-person cabins, each one with two single beds. These small accommodations are tastefully decorated and have a lovely setting near the courtyard and its facilities.
THE CHURCH SOCIAL AREA
This 19th century buildings still has the original window opening that are a staple of many country churches around Ireland. It was used as a place of worship for the Blake estate workers, and when the new church was built in Brooklodge it later served as a schoolhouse for the locality.
This space is now used as a social area for guests to relax and/or party in, and can comfortable host up to 35 people.

Shower & Toilet Facilities
Around the central courtyard, there are four showers & four toilets available for use.
Communal Kitchen
This fully equipped communal kitchen can comfortably seat up to 24 people.
Walled Gardens
The larger plot is a perfect space for picnics and outdoor activities. Portions of the wall date back to medieval times, and in the autumn many of the trees bear fruit that is donated to the local daycare facility.
The second walled garden is a more narrow space that leads you from the courtyard arch to the bridge over the Abbert river. This is an ideal spot for fishing and listening the soothing movement of the water and sounds of nature.
BBQ Facilities
Irish weather being what it is, even in the summer, there is a covered BBQ area for the would-be chef in the gang!
LOCAL AMENITIES
Where To Tipple
There are several local pubs within 5 minutes of the site – Gill’s and The Palm Tree in Ballyglunin, Raftery’s in Corofin, O’Donohue’s and Mannion’s in Abbeyknockmoy.
The nearest town is Tuam would have several more places to check out for a drink such as The Brogue, Geoghegans and the Thatch.
Where To Nibble
After a short drive to Abbeyknockmoy, you will find a lovely takeaway called Crystal Pizza.
Tuam has more options for food whether it be more casual to fine dining such as Gather and Browne’s (both having won national awards).
Local Sights
The nearby train station (currently undergoing refurbishment) was the location for the famous 50’s film ‘The Quiet Man’, starring John Wayne & Maureen O’Hara. A large number of tourists visit this site regularly from around the world, and this spot is great for photos and learning more about the local history and making of this iconic film.
Castle Hackett is a 15 minute drive from the site, and is a popular hill walking destination. Views from the top of Knockma are spectacular and recent investment has expanded the walking trail.
Knockmoy Abbey is another interesting sight located in a 5 minute drive from the site. Founded in 1190, the Abbey ruins comprise of large transitional style church of early 13th century date, a central tower and the remains of a cloister. Knockmoy contains some fine stonework, especially in the chancel of the church (this is where the altar stood and is unfortunately closed to the public). The chancel also contains one of the last surviving medieval frescos in Ireland.
